The 7-day Hurghada and Marsa Alam diving holiday follows the Egyptian Red Sea coast from north to south, visiting the best reefs, wrecks and marine-life sites of four dive regions. The route runs Hurghada → Safaga → El Quseir → Marsa Alam → Hurghada, giving you island reefs and famous wrecks in the north, quiet coral gardens in the middle and turtles, dugongs and dolphins in the south.
This guided Red Sea diving tour is designed for certified divers who want variety rather than a week on one house reef. Licensed local dive guides lead each dive, a private vehicle moves you between resorts, and the plan can be adjusted to your experience level and dates before booking.
Tour Overview
The Egyptian Red Sea is one of the world's best diving destinations, with warm water, good visibility and reefs that come close to the shore. This Hurghada to Marsa Alam diving tour uses the coastal highway to sample four distinct dive regions in one week, so you do not repeat the same reef twice.

Dive Areas and Places You Will Visit
Each stop on this Egypt diving holiday offers a different style of Red Sea reef. Here is what to expect.
Hurghada and the Giftun Islands
Hurghada grew from a fishing village into Egypt's main Red Sea resort, with easy access to reefs off the Giftun Islands and the Shaab Abu Nuhas wrecks. Gentle coral gardens suit a first dive, and the city has a full range of dive services.
Shaab Abu Nuhas
A reef north of Hurghada where several ships have run aground over the past 150 years, Abu Nuhas is known as the wreck graveyard of the Red Sea. Sites include the steamer Carnatic, lost in 1869, and the cargo ships Chrisoula K and Giannis D. It is an advanced or experienced-diver site that needs a long boat day.
Safaga
Safaga is a port town south of Hurghada with a quieter dive scene and strong winds that also draw windsurfers. Reefs such as Panorama Reef and Abu Kefan offer drop-offs, pinnacles and big schools of fish. The ferry Salem Express, which sank in 1991 with great loss of life, lies off Safaga and is treated as a memorial site.
El Quseir
El Quseir was an ancient Red Sea port. Roman traders used a harbour here, and in the Ottoman period it was a gateway for pilgrims to Mecca. Its 16th-century fortress and old streets remain, and the surrounding reefs are less crowded than in the north.
Marsa Alam
Marsa Alam in the far south has become a centre for marine-life diving, with calm bays, coral gardens and sea-grass beds. Many hotels sit on fringing reefs where you can dive or snorkel straight from the beach.
Abu Dabbab
Abu Dabbab is a shallow bay where green sea turtles graze on sea grass and sometimes a lone dugong appears. Sightings are never guaranteed, and visitors should keep their distance and never touch the animals.
Elphinstone Reef
Elphinstone is an open-sea reef rising from deep water, known for steep walls and encounters with sharks. Currents can be strong, so it is for experienced divers only and conditions decide whether the dive goes ahead.
Samadai (Dolphin House)
Samadai is a horseshoe reef used as a resting place by spinner dolphins. Rules limit how many people can enter the water, and swimmers must keep calm and never chase the dolphins.

Best Time to Dive and What to Pack
The best time to dive in the Red Sea is March to June and September to November, when water is warm and conditions are calm. Summer water reaches around 28 to 30 degrees, and winter is cooler, near 22 to 24, so a thicker wetsuit is useful. Pack your certification card and logbook, a mask and computer if you own them, reef-safe sunscreen, a rash vest, a light jacket for boat crossings and a dry bag.
